Opinion | The Moves Against the Census

To the Editor:Re “An Incomplete Census Hurts Everyone” (editorial, Aug. 6):The Census Bureau’s decision to halt the population count early is but one example of the political bias embedded in the nation’s entire administrative infrastructure. In this case, it piggybacks on the president’s directive not to count undocumented people. These moves, landing somewhere between presidential racial fears to acts of a flailing, desperate politician, also match exactly his deadly management of the coronavirus — just don’t measure it and it goes away — with consequences that directly obscure accuracy and reality and harm the country.
